AI Usage Policy

Lakeshore Woods Senior Living | Goforth Group LLC | Effective: July 1, 2026 | Last Reviewed: July 1, 2026

Lakeshore Woods Senior Living and the Michigan Cognitive Recovery Center use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support some aspects of our communications and content operations. This page explains how we use AI, what safeguards we have in place, and what we do not use AI for.

Where We May Use AI

  • Content drafting and editing: We may use AI tools to assist in drafting blog posts, website copy, email communications, and marketing materials. All AI-drafted content is reviewed, edited, and approved by a qualified human staff member before publication.
  • Research and summarization: We may use AI to assist in summarizing published research on cognitive health for internal team use. Any clinical content that appears on our public websites is reviewed by a qualified clinical reviewer before publication, regardless of whether AI was used in its preparation.
  • Administrative support: We may use AI tools to support internal scheduling, document organization, and communications workflow. These uses do not involve resident personal or health information.

What We Do Not Use AI For

  • We do not use AI to make, recommend, or replace clinical care decisions for any resident or MCRC program participant.
  • We do not input resident personal information, protected health information (PHI), or identifiable family data into any public AI system.
  • We do not use AI to conduct clinical assessments or interpret diagnostic data.
  • We do not allow AI-generated content to be published on our websites without prior human review and approval.

Data Privacy and AI

We are committed to ensuring that the use of AI tools does not compromise the privacy of our residents, program participants, or website visitors. Any AI tools we use are evaluated for compliance with our Privacy Policy, our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, and applicable Michigan and federal law.

Specific AI tools and vendors may change over time. We do not input resident personal information, protected health information (PHI), or identifiable family data into public AI tools.

Transparency Commitment

We believe in being transparent with our community about how technology is used in our operations. If this policy changes in a material way, we will update this page and reflect the change with a revised effective date.
