Med Tech
Position Summary
The Med Tech is responsible for providing quality care to residents by administering prescribed medications, completing treatments safely, and supporting residents’ physical, social, and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and injections according to residents’ medical charts and established procedures.
- Document medication administration accurately.
- Follow medication updates and directions from the Wellness Director or Wellness Nurse.
- Receive and check medication deliveries from pharmacy drivers.
- Assist residents with bathing, grooming, toileting, transfers, and other daily living activities.
- Assist residents during mealtimes and with transportation as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including light housekeeping.
- Maintain resident records by documenting care, condition, progress, and concerns.
- Recognize changes in residents’ conditions and report them promptly to a supervisor.
- Support resident activities and assist other team members as needed.
- Follow all safety, health, and infection-control procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to multitask.
- Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to communicate and document effectively in English.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Current TB test and physical examination, if required for the position.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Must be available to work at least every other weekend.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and support up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to kneel, crouch, and bend frequently.
- Must be able to stand for the duration of a shift.
